Hands Offering Support_edited_edited.jpg

We are so glad you're here!

Our goal is to make your visit feel calm, supported, and unrushed—from the moment you arrive. Below, you’ll find everything you need to feel prepared and comfortable before we meet.

Before Your Appointment

After booking, you’ll receive an email with your intake and consent forms.
These are sent automatically and may occasionally land in your junk, updates, or promotions folders.

Please complete your forms 12–24 hours before your appointment.
They are also available on our website.

Completing your forms in advance allows us to focus fully on your care during your visit.

In-Clinic Visits

Please arrive 5–10 minutes early to settle in.

You’re welcome to bring:

  • Your baby

  • A support person

  • Bottles or pumping equipment you use (if applicable)

We recommend wearing comfortable clothing that allows for easy feeding or pumping.

For your comfort, slippers are available at the entrance, and there is space to hang coats and jackets.

Home Visits

Lactation Support Home Visits are available within our catchment

area. A $25 travel fee applies to visits outside of this area.

To help create a calm and focused environment, we kindly

ask that pets are kept in a separate room during the appointment.

During Your Visit

Each consultation is tailored to you and your baby.We typically

begin by reviewing your intake forms and health history, followed

by a gentle and thorough assessment. Depending on your needs,

your visit may include:

  • Feeding assessment (ideally baby is ready to feed)

  • Latch and positioning support

  • Oral assessment of baby

  • Breast and pumping assessment (including flange fitting if needed)

  • Infant weight check

  • Hands-on support and guidance

  • A personalized care plan

Every visit is guided by what matters most in the moment. If more time is needed to address a specific concern, we may prioritize that over other components.

After Your Visit

You will receive a personalized care plan and summary within 24 hours.

Follow-Up Appointments

Achieving your feeding goals often requires more than one session. Follow-up visits allow for reassessment, hands-on support, and adjustments to your care plan as needed. For this reason, follow-up appointments are offered at a lower fee to make continued support more accessible.

Virtual Appointments

For virtual visits, please ensure you have:

  • A comfortable, private space

  • Any feeding or pumping supplies nearby

  • A support person

If your visit includes feeding support, it’s helpful if your baby is ready to feed during the session.

We recommend having your camera positioned so we can clearly see positioning and latch (if applicable).

If you are running late, please let us know. If we do not hear from you, the session may be ended after 20 minutes.

Ongoing Support

For our lactation support we offer email support for 48 hours following your appointment for questions or clarification related to your care plan.

For urgent concerns, please send a text with “URGENT” and a brief description. If this is a medical emergency, please contact your healthcare provider or local emergency services.

Insurance & Payment

Coverage depends on your insurance plan and provider. Services with the clinic owner (RN & IBCLC) may be reimbursed under nursing or lactation benefits. Other practitioners in our clinic bill under their own credentials. Receipts are provided; please confirm coverage with your insurer.

We look forward to supporting you and your family!

Policies

To provide thoughtful, uninterrupted care for every family, we kindly ask that you review the following policies before your visit.

Appointments & Timing

All appointments are scheduled for a specific length of time to ensure each family receives dedicated, unrushed care.

If you are running late, please let us know as soon as possible. If we are not notified, we will wait up to 20 minutes, after which the appointment may be considered a missed visit. If you arrive late, we will do our best to use the remaining time, though a full session may not be possible.

Intake Forms

Intake and consent forms are required for all appointments. These forms must be completed 12–24 hours prior to your visit.

Forms are sent automatically after booking and can sometimes appear in junk, updates, or promotions folders. They are also available on our website.

Cancellations & Rescheduling

We kindly require at least 24 hours’ notice for any cancellations or changes.

Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice are subject to a $75 cancellation fee. Any remaining balance will be refunded within 48 hours. This policy allows us to offer your appointment time to another family in need of support.

Missed Appointments (No-Shows)

If you notify us that you are running late, we will always do our best to accommodate you within the remaining time. Missed appointments are non-refundable.

Home Visits

Home visits are available within our local catchment area. A $25 travel fee applies to visits outside of this area.

Virtual Appointments

For virtual visits, please ensure you are prepared and ready at your scheduled time. If you are running late, kindly notify us in advance. If we do not hear from you, the session may be ended after 20 minutes (of waiting online) and considered a "no-show".

We will always use the remaining time if you are able to join late, though a full session may not be possible.

Communication & Ongoing Support

We offer email support for 48 hours following your appointment for questions or clarification related to your care plan.

Please note that email support is intended for follow-up questions only. New or complex concerns are best addressed during a scheduled appointment to ensure you receive the most appropriate care.

For urgent (non-emergency) matters, you may send a text message with “URGENT” in the subject line and a brief description. We will respond as soon as possible during business hours or later.

Emergencies

This clinic does not provide emergency care. If you have an urgent medical concern, please contact your healthcare provider, call Telehealth Ontario (1-866-797-0000), visit your nearest emergency department, or call 911.
